LED Walls & Graphics System for Studio 1
The Customer
Radiotelevisione Svizzera di lingua Italiana (RSI) is a public broadcaster based in Lugano that produces television and radio content for Switzerland’s Italian-speaking population. Part of SRG SSR (the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation), RSI was founded in 1925 and reaches around 8% of the 8.65M Swiss population daily.

The Project

AVC-Systems AG was chosen to deliver & install about 100m² fine pitch LED displays for RSI’s Studio 1. The LED walls are going to replace parts of the physical studio décor and can be used flexibly for various broadcasts and other shows. The mounting structure consists of several mobile trolleys which can be placed individually in the studio or assembled to form a seamless wall.
In addition to XPression, Ross Video’s graphics system, we also decided to supply the graphics system XPression Tessera, which enables us to arrange each pixel individually. With Tessera we are able to properly deliver the content to the LED controllers.
More than 33 million pixels were duplicated and transmitted to the redundant LED controller routes for maximum reliability.
Despite international crises & supply shortages we were able to successfully finish the installation as planned.
